“It’s absolutely amazing that in my job I get to have a direct and positive impact on people’s lives.”

Experience

Since beginning practice in Wilmington in 2005, Dr. Johnson has treated tens of thousands of patients, yet he still celebrates every successful patient outcome as if it’s the first. He is the first and only surgeon in Southeastern North Carolina to perform topography-guided LASIK, an exceptionally customized treatment which addresses over 20,000 micro-prescriptions within each eye. He is also the first and only surgeon in Southeastern North Carolina to utilize the LENSAR ALLY Adaptive Laser Cataract system, the world’s most advanced laser for precise, customized cataract procedures.

Dr. Johnson was one of the first surgeons in the Carolinas to utilize SLT laser as first-line glaucoma therapy for the reduction or elimination of eye drops. He was also one of the first surgeons in the Carolinas to perform Laser Floater Treatment for the reduction or elimination of bothersome eye floaters, and he remains one of the region’s most experienced surgeons in these technologies. Dr. Johnson’s passion for bringing visual freedom to his patients, utilizing groundbreaking technology, forms the essence of our practice.

“It is a deep honor to have you trust me in this way.”
